1999 Client Advisory Committee Annual Report
Mission Statement
The Arkansas Manufacturing Extension Network’s (Network) Client Advisory Committee provides strategic direction to the Network and is the voice of Arkansas manufacturers in recommending policy and service delivery advice to the Network through the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority’s (Authority) Board of Directors. The Network’s mission is to improve the quality, productivity and global competitiveness of Arkansas manufacturers through the provision of comprehensive technical and management assistant services.
Committee Action
The Client Advisory Committee is comprised of 13 representatives. There are 10 members representing manufacturers from different areas of the state. The three remaining representatives are members of the Authority’s Board of Directors. The chair of the Authority’s Industry Committee also serves as chair of the Client Advisory Committee.
Members met one time between July 1998 and June 1999. The meeting, held at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Baum Center, was designed to facilitate an open response atmosphere, allowing everyone to participate. As a result, the Committee developed a perceived needs list for small manufacturers. The list was prioritized and applied to the expected services of the Network.
Client Advisory members also participated in the annual needs survey, and the Network’s strategic planning process, initiated in May 1999.
